Durham Royal County - Our team
Lianne Marshall, Proactive Sales Coordinator
I have worked for the Durham Marriott for over 11 years in a range of roles. My role is to assist Roshann and the team with the promotion of the club in the local community.
Lisa Tweddle, Fitness Instructor
I joined the leisure team here in 2014. I have over 6 years experience in this industry and can teach aquafit and metafit classes as well as being a triathlon coach. This is a really rewarding job and I have made some great friends already, both staff and customers. I hope to work towards my personal training qualification soon.
Deborah Stebbings, Leisure Attendant
I joined the Leisure Team here at the Hotel in 2008, having not previously been employed in the Leisure Industry. Whilst at the club I have developed my skills and learnt new ones. By attending relevant training courses I am now a qualified lifeguard and first aider. I enjoy dealing with all aspects of Leisure Club life, particularly meeting and talking to our Members on a regular basis. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Club and hope to continue my working life here for many years to come!
Paul Patterson, Leisure Attendant
Beginning a working week with the core goal of making every guest or members experience, a gratifying and relaxing one, is what motivates us at Durham Marriott. On any given day, the range of people with which we welcome through our doors will vary. Nevertheless, this doesn't effect the quality and standard of service, we in the leisure club aim to provide. Delivering this service and enhancing the Marriott brand and reputation is what has driven me over the last five years.
Tony Swift, Leisure Attendant
I joined the Leisure Team here at the hotel 7 years ago, having not previously being employed in this aspect of the Leisure industry. It was a new and exciting challenge for me. Assisting with the day to day operation of the Club and working towards making every Member's, and Hotel Guests', visit an enjoyable one is rewarding in itself to me. During my time at the Club I have made lots of good friends, both members and colleagues alike and this alone has persuaded me to postpone my retirement.....for the time being!
Grant Mitchell, Leisure Attendant
I joined the team here at the Marriott Royal County in October 2010. This was initailly via a Leisure Apprentiship scheme, and have since managed to secure a permanent part-time role within the Club. Throughout my time here at Durham I have gained qualifications as a Pool Lifeguard and in First Aid. I am also hoping to start a NVQ in Gym Instruction in the near future.
Michaela Young, Leisure Attendant

I am currently studying an NVQ in gym instruction and in the near future a BA in Primary Education.
