Derek Bruce, Leisure Club Manager
I have worked in the industry for 10 years upon completing my HND Fitness Health & Exercise, I have steadily progressed my career to allow me to progress into my 2nd Management Position. I have also enjoyed a successful part of my career in Personal Training and Group Exercise Instruction. My aim is to continue to develop the club while our members and guests continue to enjoy using our facilities. Ryan Hamilton, Supervisor
I am a qualified Level 3 personal trainer with an HNC in Exercise, Health and Fitness. I have been in the fitness profession for just over a year and have also been taking my own bootcamp classes in that same period. In my spare time I play rugby for Musselburgh RFC and am also a 3x Scottish champion in Karate.
Andrew Millar, Leisure Club Host
I have recently joined the Edinburgh Marriott team as a Part Time Leisure Host after doing some work experience in August 2014 and am looking forward to gaining some more experience in the leisure industry as I am currently studying a BTEC Level 3 Sport & Exercise Course at Edinburgh College. I enjoy playing basketball in my spare time.
Grant Belcher, Leisure Club Host
I have recently joined the team at the Edinburgh Marriott Leisure Club as a Part Time Leisure Host after doing voluntary work experience from October to December 2014. I completed my first year at Edinburgh College studying Sports Activity Leadership and I am now studying BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Sports. My interests are predominantly around sporting activities including football and visiting the gym regularly.
Michael Fotheringhame, Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer
I have recently joined the Edinburgh Marriott team in September 2015 after a past career as an infantry soldier within the British Armed Forces and a successful career as a Martial Artist competing at Scottish and British National Level. I look forward to using these experiences to inspire members and guests into reaching their personal fitness goals. I am a level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer with the qualifications to instruct Gym Based Boxing and Studio Cycling. I am also a Circuit Coach and can offer Nutritional Advice.
Scott Drummond, Leisure Club Host
I am currently the newest member of the team having moved from the hotel reception to the club in September 2016. I am a REPS Level 2 Gym instructor and a REPS Level 3 Personal Trainer. My main focus is strength training and I am looking at continued personal development in nutrition, mobility training and sports based exercise. I love the outdoors and have an extensive background in animal biology and martial arts having practiced Taekwondo for 7 years and even competed at the UK and European level.
